Boston: The Grand Finale of Our East Coast Adventure

After trains, tours, history, and a lot of eating, we wrapped up our four-city East Coast adventure in Boston for three nights with our friends from London. If Washington, Philly, and New York were the warm-ups, Boston was the perfect grand finale.

We checked into the Hyatt Regency Boston—a great base for exploring the city—and kicked things off with dinner at the Chart House on the waterfront. Lobster rolls, seafood towers, and views of the harbor? Check. To top it off, we wandered into the Black Rose Bar, where live music, Irish vibes, and a nightcap set the tone for the rest of our stay.

Day One: Swan Boats & a Big Win

The next morning, we strolled through the Boston Public Garden, where the famous swan boats floated gracefully across the pond. (Yes, they’re as charming as they look in postcards.) From there, we walked all the way to Fenway Park—a pilgrimage for baseball fans.

The game did not disappoint: Boston won, the crowd was electric, and we even witnessed the holy grail of baseball moments—an infield home run! After cheering ourselves hoarse, we capped off the night with a feast in Chinatown, where dumplings and noodles hit the spot after all that stadium food.

Day Two: History, Chowder & Cheering

Our final full day was dedicated to Boston’s history—and its food (of course). We followed the Freedom Trail, weaving through cobblestone streets and stopping at Paul Revere’s house to channel our inner patriots.

For lunch, we tucked into pasta at Trattoria Il Panino in the North End (because no vacation is complete without at least one Italian meal). From there, we Ubered to the Cheers Bar, where we raised a glass of chowder and beer to Sam, Diane, and the fact that we now own way too many “Everybody Knows Your Name” T-shirts.

The final toast of our trip came at the Bleacher Bar, tucked beneath the bleachers at Fenway. With a perfect view onto the field, we watched the last two innings of the game without even needing tickets. A sneaky little Boston hack to end our stay on a high note.

Final Thoughts

Boston gave us swan boats, baseball magic, history lessons, pasta, chowder, and the kind of memories you only make when traveling with good friends. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic East Coast journey—four cities, ten days, and countless laughs along the way.

Until next time, Boston… save us a seat at Fenway.
